Car Antenna Cozy Version 1

You will need:

Worsted weight yarn of any colour

Size 7 needles

Gauge: Doesn’t matter

Pattern starts here

Cast on 10 stitches

Work in stocking stitch until piece reaches appropriate length.  Approx 24in or 60 cm long for a short antenna to 50in or 120cm for a long antenna.  (These are just approximate guesses as your knitting will stretch over the antenna and most antennas vary in length depending on the size of the vehicle.  If you want a perfect fit you can measure the length of the specific antenna you want to make a cozy for.)

Cast off

Close seam and sew in ends.  If you know how to crochet, you can crochet the seam close with a slip stitch.  These makes nice edging.  If not than simply sew it closed with some of your left over yarn.  Make sure to close one end but keep the other open.

You should know have a long tube for placing over a car antenna.

Car Antenna Version Two

You will need:

Dpn size 7

Worsted weight yarn

Gauge:  doesn’t matter

Pattern starts here

Cast on 10 st

Make an I-cord by knitting one side and instead of turning your work bring the yarn around the back and knitting from the beginning.  This will make the yarn into a tube.

Continue until you have reached the desired length.  Approx. 24in for a short cozy and 50in for a long cozy. These are just approximations for an exact fit always measure your intended antenna.

Cast off.

Sew in ends.

Place cozy.
